Up to 40 stalls of incredible, eclectic yet affordable vintage fashion, furniture, homewares, collectables and accessories will pack out this east-end venue, making it a one-stop shop for all your vintage desires! Not simply a shop-till-you-drop opportunity, we’ve also got some spectacular entertainment on hand for you. Take one amazing DJ, a performance by The Tootsie Rollers and a cabaret courtesy of the draw-dropping Tassel Club and you’ve got yourself one corker of an afternoon! As if that wasn’t enough, we’ve also got The Powderpuff Girls on hand to offer hair and beauty treatments that leave you feeling, and looking, like a glamorous goddess! If you’re in need of a spot of refreshment after all that shopping, then never fear because the Tea Boys from Just My Cup of Tea [the UK Tea Council’s guide to all things fashion and tea] will be giving out free cups of unusual and exotic tea as well as your standard [but oh so good] cuppa. Throw into the mix a pop-up bar from Crabbie’s and there really is no better place to be on a Sunday!

As Bethnal Green’s Affordable Vintage Fair creeps ever closer we’re getting more and more excited about the treatments on offer from The Powderpuff Girls! Their fabulous team of professional make-up artists, hair stylists and manicurists will be bringing a touch of old-world glamour to hair and make-up, injecting polish and style into your look and making you feel pampered and preened! We grabbed founder of The Powderpuff Girls, Katie Reynolds, for a quick chat on make-up essentials, faux-pas and her inspiration…

What’s your top make-up tip?

As you get older you need to wear less make-up, so while you are young make the most of it and be creative and try out new looks!

What do you think is the biggest make-up faux pas ladies should try and avoid is?

Personally I think foundation is the biggest one! It’s really worth investing in a good one and saving on a cheaper mascara for example. Test the colour on your cheek at the jawline, it should match your skintone, don’t be tempted to go darker otherwise you might find you get the dreaded tidemark!

What item of make-up could you not live without?

Lipstick!

What inspired you to start The Powderpuff Girls?

I had been a make-up artist and hair stylist for over 10 years and thought it was a shame that those unique skills that professional make-up artists have were reserved for celebrities, so I try and bring the service to everyone.
